What do you get when you have one estranged husband, one brother who owes a lot of people a butt load of money, and a greedy cop cousin? A recipe for disaster! One cold January evening, JoAnn Matouk Romain left a prayer service at St. Paul's Cathedral and was never seen alive again. And even though I just presented to you 3 promising potential leads... cops are not having it. It's obviously a suicide, guys. Because even though they have a witness saying they saw someone with JoAnn that night... The cops found some butt prints and hand prints in the snow across the street by a lake... So OBVIOUSLY JoAnn drowned herself, duh! If you're asking yourself, "Wait, what?" You need to listen to this episode.

Ah, the 1970s. When the internet didn't exist and people were really pretty dumb. Like when America decided to initiate a "National Prison Reform Program" so convicted rapists and murderers could drive and go shopping in civilian attire unsupervised. This was designed to allow them to develop the skills they would need to re-enter society.
And, I know this is going to be hard to digest, but wouldn't you know some inmates took ADVANTAGE of this program?! Yeah, pretty unbelievable am I right? *insert eye roll here*
This story is about a man who escaped while shopping for Christmas gifts at a local shopping mall in 1972 and is still on the run to this day!
Make sure you listen ALLL the way to the end... because even when you think it's over. IT'S. SO. NOT. OVER.

In fact, as soon as he returned from Vietnam he made it his mission to make sure those fallen veterans were remembered by aiding in the construction of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial. Edgar Allan Poe

Edgar Allan Poe, considered the Father of the detective mystery was an incredibly talented, internationally known poet and writer.
Poe was the first to make writing a full time career, and not just a side hustle. His life and his life's work was shrouded in mystery and it's only fitting that his untimely death was also. On October 3rd, he was found in a gutter on Election day dressed in someone else's clothing... 4 days later he was dead.
Fueled by delusions and hallucinations, his final words were, "Reynolds, Reynolds, Reynolds." Was this Poe's attempt to name his killer? Or was it simply the hallucinations of a dying man? Could he have acquired rabies? Was it, perhaps, an undiagnosed brain tumor? Was it cooping? What on Earth IS COOPING?!

Jack the Ripper
Tuesday Oct 06, 2020
Tuesday Oct 06, 2020
1st week of our October Halloween Series. Underneath the romantic spell of London in the 1880s lay a dark unease. A serial killer who grew to be the physical representation of the mid and upperclass's worst nightmare: The White Chapel Murderer. If the killer could cross district boundaries, what else in East End would creep its way on over? This episode has undercover cops dressed as sex workers, 9 potential suspects and we finally get the answer to the age old question, "How many Englishmen does it take to do the right thing in 1888?" Three. The answer is very disappointingly, three.
